le it's important to plan on an overall pay budget increase for your organization, it's also critical to have an understanding of pay trends for different categories of workers.

Figures released by the "Kiplinger Report" say that pay will rise on a national average by 4% next year. But, not surprisingly, hi-tech workers will see their pay rise by 5.2%. Certain high demand services like legal, consulting, and accounting will also rise faster than average, about 4.7%. In the below average column are health care (3.6%) and utilities (3.8%).
