BLR’s 2012 Policy Survey results are in

How often are HR policies reviewed and updated? Which policies are the most challenging in the future? Where do employers find policies? BLR’s 2012 Policy Survey answers these questions and more.

What policies do you have? The most widely implemented policy is harassment and/or discrimination (94.5 percent), followed closely by employee leave of absence (91.1 percent), according to the survey.

PTO/vacation policies (90.1 percent) and eligibility for benefits policies (89 percent) were also towards the top of the list (see chart).

How often are policies updated? When asked how often policies are updated, half of the respondents indicate they update policies as needed, while one-in-four respondents state they update policies annually.

A total of 541 organizations participated in this survey, which was conducted in July 2012.
