Not-For-Profit Pay Increase Budgets, Survey Reports
Not-for-profit organizations’ pay increase budgets have continued to decline over the past year, according to a recent survey. The 2010 Compensation Data Not-For-Profit survey results show pay increase budgets have dropped from 2.4 percent in 2009 to 1.7 percent in 2010. However, the survey predicts pay increases will slightly rise in 2011 to 1.8 percent.

According to the survey, pay increase budgets varied by industry:

Libraries

Churches/religious organizations
1.5%
Colleges/universities
1.3 %
Government entities
1.2%

In addition, the survey found that associations are expected to maintain the highest pay increase budget in 2011 at 2.5 percent, while government entities are expected to remain with the lowest pay increase budget, dropping to less than 1 percent.

The survey results also ranked pay increase budgets for not-for-profit organizations by region:

In 2011, South Central is expected to have the highest pay increase budget at 2.1 percent.
