HR Pros Not Sure Whether New I-9 Will Help or Hinder
Most human resource professionals are uncertain as to how the revised Form I-9 will impact their jobs, according to a recent Compensation.BLR.com poll. However, of those who expressed certainty, most believed the revisions would make their job easier rather than harder.

When asked "How will the revised Form I-9 impact your job?," 61 percent of respondents answered "I'm not sure," while 34 percent responded "It will make my job easier." Just 5 percent responded "It will make my job harder."

Earlier this month, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) revised Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, removing five documents from the form's list of those acceptable for proof of identity and employment eligibility. The forms were removed because they lack sufficient features to help deter counterfeiting, tampering, and fraud, the agency said. For details, see our previous coverage on the changes.

The Compensation.BLR.com poll included 203 respondents.
