Ninety-five percent of respondents said they offered a paid holiday for Labor Day to exempt employees, compared with 93 percent that said nonexempt office employees receive it as a paid holiday and 78 percent that said it is a paid holiday for nonexempt plant employees.

Labor Day is one of the most common paid holidays. For example, among exempt employees, Thanksgiving (97 percent), New Year's Day (96 percent), and July 4 (96 percent) are the only three holidays that are observed by a greater percentage of employers.
