Sixteen percent of workers say that they feel guilty about missing work while on vacation and seven percent say they fear that time off could cost them their job, according to a survey by CareerBuilder.com.

Get Your Report Now!Eighty-four percent of workers said they plan to take a vacation this year, according to the online survey, which included more than 2,500 respondents.
Twenty-seven percent of workers say they plan to work while on vacation this year, down from the 33 who said so in 2005. This year, 33 percent of men said they expect to work on projects or check in with the office while on vacation, compared with 25 percent of women.
"Work can be demanding, but taking it all with you just brings the stress to a new location," says Rosemary Haefner, vice president of human resources at CareerBuilder.com. "Cell phones, pagers and other electronic devices can create an e-leash of sorts. Planning ahead, managing expectations and setting boundaries with your co-workers are key to making sure you get the break you need."
