Few Employers Have No Difficult-to-Fill Jobs

Fifty-nine percent of employers report having 1 to 3 jobs at their organization that are difficult to fill, according to a survey by Compensation.BLR.com and HR.BLR.com.

Twenty-seven percent of respondents said they had 4 to 10 difficult-to-fill jobs. More employers said they had in excess of 20 difficult-to-fill jobs (6 percent) than said they had none of them (5 percent). Only two percent of respondents said they had 11 to 20 difficult-to fill jobs.

The survey included 125 respondents.

According to a recent survey by Manpower, Inc., employers reported the following 10 jobs as the most difficult to fill in 2009:

  1. Engineers
  2. Nurses
  3. Skilled/Manual Trades
  4. Teachers
  5. Sales Representatives
  6. Technicians
  7. Drivers
  8. IT Staff
  9. Laborers
  10. Machinist/Machine Operators.
