terday we became aware of two new tools aimed to help job seekers on the Internet. Coming out on the same day, they reveal just the tip of the iceberg of new tools that promise to revolutionize hiring and HR, in ways small and big.

SelfLook, an Atlanta-based web developer, announced the launch of www.selflook.com. For only $15, jobseekers can explore how they fit various careers such as Entrepreneurial, Sales, Management, Technical, Medical, Teaching, and others. According to the press release, SelfLook's reports are available immediately after the completion of a quick questionnaire that takes less than 10 minutes. The company touts its service as "a smart first step in any job search. Using the Internet, it can be done in the privacy of the home with the individual in complete control of the process."

Meanwhile -- Am I Worthy Debuts

Wondering if you could earn more money by jumping ship to a new job or even a new industry? Wonder no more: Vault.com (http://www.Vault.com), has announced the launch of Am I Worthy?(TM), a new career tool that allows professionals to uncover their "market value" in today's red-hot job market.

It works like this: Vault.com members submit a resume-like profile and a desired industry, which Vault.com then sends to a compensation expert to be evaluated. The expert offers a potential salary estimate (e.g., "$80,000") in addition to a substantive analysis of the candidate's strengths, weaknesses, and areas of improvement.

Once the analysis is completed, Vault.com posts the expert's review and analysis in the Am I Worthy?(TM) area (http://www.Vault.com/links/AIW). The Vault.com community can then log on and debate the accuracy of the expert's assessment and assign his or her own salary estimate for each candidate.

The site says it has already received over 1,000 profiles from professionals eager to have their credentials and backgrounds evaluated. Some of these candidates submit their profiles using an alias, while others are bold enough to submit their real name and sometimes even a photograph. The company also offers message boards and other types of information about current and prospective employers.
